The goal of every believer is not to make God love him/her but to please the Father. Infact God can love you without being pleased with you.
Being a Christian for many years does not make you become a son, what makes a son out of every believer is the power that to become which has rested upon us and to be led by the spirit of God.
Apostle Michael Orokpo made us understand that sonship is not a function of time, title or gender but a function of maturity in the kingdom and in the spirit.
