Nigerians have reacted to the emergence of former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
Recall that Tinubu on Wednesday won APC’s presidential ticket, defeating former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in a landslide.
- In his acceptance speech shortly after the announcement of his victory, Tinubu thanked God for the success of the exercise and his victory at the poll.
- According to Tinubu, he never expected that he would win the primary election but that it happened.
Tinubu while commenting on Osinbajo, who was one of his top contenders for the presidential ticket, described the nation’s number two citizen as a good supportive pillar to President Buhari.
The former Lagos State governor, however, noted in his speech that he wasn’t happy about Senate President, Ahmed Lawan’s participation in the race.
Tinubu revealed that he holds no grudge against those who refused to step down for him. He also appreciated the aspirants who stepped down and backed his presidential ambition.
However, some Nigerians took to social media platforms to express their views on the acceptance speech.
