The Governing Council of Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) has at its 17th meeting held on Wednesday, 11th February, 2020 approved the promotions of seven tenure academic staff to the rank of Professors and Readers. This was sequel to the recommendations of two External Assessors as well as that of the Senior Staff Appointment and Promotion Committee (SSAPC).
The newly appointed Professors are Dr. Tukur M. Dikko Zauro, Industrial Design (Ceramics) and Dr. Sirajo Abdulrahman (Applied Mathematics).
The Associate Professors (Readers) on the other hand, are Dr. Abbas Bazata Yusuf (Microbiology), Dr. Aliyu Abdullahi Turaki (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), Abdullahi Garba Kangiwa (Sociology), Dr. Acheoah John Emike (European Languages) and Dr. Abdulaziz Shehu (Economics).
It is to be noted that with this development, FUBK has become the first University to get Professor of Industrial Design in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states. Prof. Zauro was the pioneer Director, Entrepreneurship Centre of the institution.
