Gernot Rohr Speaks On Mikel Obi Retiring From Super Eagles

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has laid to rest speculations in some quarters that John Mikel Obi has retired from the national team.
Rohr said he expects Mikel to be fit for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya next month.
There have been speculations that Mikel’s time with Nigeria could be over, after he asked to be excused from the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Seychelles last Saturday.

It came at a time when his former Chelsea teammate Victor Moses announced his international retirement.
Rohr, however, confirmed that the captain will be in the team for the game against Libya, alongside some other players who didn’t feature against Seychelles.
‎“By the 10th of October, we will recover our injured players like (William) Ekong, like Ola Aina, Obi Mikel will be fit also,” the coach told OwnGoalNigeria.
